FACING THE CHALLENGE FOR A BETTER WORLD
GROWING FOOD
DEMAND...
...IS CAUSING
DEFORESTATION...
...AND DEPLETING OUR RESOURCES
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that the world's population will reach 9.1 billion by 2050 and that world food production will have to increase by about 60% above 2005/2007 to keep up with increasing demand.
This increase has been achieved by expanding the areas currently dedicated to agriculture converting the planet's natural forests and wilderness areas into arable land with its huge and unsustainable impact in the future.
Our survival depends on how quickly we implement new approaches and technologies to protect the soil, increase & recycle organic matter, minimizing GHG emissions, apply best practices in land management and boost the circular economy with less demand for natural resources, thus protecting water, air and improving the soil.
SOLVING THE CHALLENGE
MEET THE AGRISTARBIO CHALLENGE
